Different arena. Same result. Your Montreal Canadiens got to pick on the lowly Ottawa Senators for a second time in as many games on Thursday in a rather chippy affair. It seems Zach Smith and Max Domi are not friends.
It was the Domi and Drouin show at the Bell Centre on Tuesday night as your Montreal Canadiens spanked the Ottawa Senators 5-2.
Your Montreal Canadiens continue to put up a ton of shots, but they only found the back of the net in any significant way on Saturday night, while Sunday remained a struggle. Shea Weber made a big impact on some sticks against the Sharks and on the scoresheet against the Rangers as the Habs split their weekend games at the Bell Centre.
It’s Sean. It’s Zach. They’re back and together in Toronto for Nylander Watch. Plus, Gritty, Habs draft failures, The Best Player in the World, and the end of Real. Comfortable. Jeans. Going looooong on this one.
Despite putting up 49 shots – outshooting Carolina 22-2 in the third period alone – your Montreal Canadiens couldn’t find a way to win in Shea Weber’s return to the line-up on Tuesday in Montreal. The losing streak now extends to five games.
Two losses with similar fail points’ namely indiscipline. Drouin cost the Canadiens big on Saturday night with the Bruins at the Bell Centre and Domi in the box in OT hurt them in an overtime losing effort against the first place (!) Buffalo Sabres.
Your Montreal Canadiens failed to show up in New Jersey in the day before U.S. Thanksgiving, but at least Max Domi kept his points streak alive. That was about all that was good for the Habs in this one.
